| Anti pesticide, bacteria, & Virus Fruit/Veg wash |
Pesticides, bacteria, and viruses are becoming a major problem in our fruits and vegetables which cost most of the infections. Unfortunately, in India, we do not have a clear law that defines organic and many organic fruits and vegetables too carry pesticides, bacteria, and viruses which causes whole lot of problems.
Does this really work?
This is not based on hear say but proven through a study conducted by University of Florida (read Note section)
Here is a simple solution that can help in removing pesticides.
What you need:
1. Small spray bottle (500 - 600 ml)
2. 1 cup or 250 ml of Vinegar - 5 Rs
3. 1 cup of distilled or purified water
4. 1 Tbsp of Baking Soda - 3 Rs
5. 1/2 Lemon - 2 Rs
Steps to make the organic Cleaning Solution:
1. Mix water and vinegar first in a vessel.
2. Now add Baking Soda to this mix and let the foam stop. Don't worry about the reaction.
3. Squeeze half lime to this mixture.
4. Pour this mixture into the Small Spray Bottle and label it as "Veg / Fruit Cleaning Wash" .
That's it. Your organic anti pesticide, anti bacteria, and ANTI virus solution is ready.
How to use this:
1. Spray the solution on any vegetable or fruit liberally. Wait for 5 mins so that it can do its work.
2. Thoroughly wash the fruits or vegetables under tap water for at least 1 minute rubbing them as required. This is important to remove pesticides.
3. Now use them to your heart's content
Notes:
1. This is an inexpensive solution. Studies have proved 100% usage of Vinegar cuts down 90% of pesticides. If you are paranoid, you can directly use the vinegar alone to wash all fruits and vegetables.
2. A study conducted by University of Florida concluded a 10% Vinegar solution removed bacteria by 90% and a 100% vinegar solution removed viruses by 95%.
