| Hanging Shoe Organizer |
Its a daily affair with my wife frantically searching for a matching chappal/sandal at the last minute when rushing to work. The worst part of this is, she will find the chappal she wants but the pair will be missing! So this Saturday, I decided to do something about it. After trying multiple DIY stuff I stumbled upon a simple idea that is so easy but very effective.
I call it the Cloth Bag Shoe Organizer!
What you need:
1. Cloth bags. These are the ones typically given during marriage. You will get this is in most shops. You get in multiple designs. They cost 4 rs
2. Thin head nails. They cost like 1 rs for some 25 of them. If you don't want to nail buy a good quality 3M tape based hooks or nail based hooks
3. Hammer
4. Cotton thread (optional), if you want to hang them like a shoulder bag
Steps:
1. My store room door is around 2 feet in width, so I could nail 2 or paste 2 3M hooks. Ensure they are not close to the edge of the door, this will ensure they don't hinder the door from closing.
2. Now, in each bag, keep a Chappal/Sandal. One tip, ensure the heal or bottom of the chappal is at the bottom of the bag. This will help with visibility of the chappal making it easy to identify.
3. Hang the bag with Chappal on the nail. One tip, roll the end with the handle hole and then hang it. This will make the hold stronger.
4. Now roll the end facing you. This will ensure 15% of the chappal is seen making it easily visible and you don't have to remove each chappal to see what it is. This also airs the chappal. See the pics below, you can see the way I have rolled it making it visible.
5. Thats it, now nail enough and hang those chappals and surprise your wife! I got a nice dinner treat :D. As always but lovely apprentice who helped me with this.
6. Another option is to get a cotton rope, tie each end of the bag, and hang them like this.
Tip:
You can buy different coloured bag and mix and match. This will make it look even better!
